The Game Awards, the gaming industry's equivalent of the Oscars, will return on December 11, 2025, in Los Angeles. Who will take home the coveted Game of the Year award? Which titles will be honored? Find out the full list of this year's winners.
The most anticipated annual event for gaming fans is finally here: the Game Awards, the awards ceremony honoring the best video games of 2025 across around thirty categories. For this latest edition, Canadian journalist and host Geoff Keighley returns once again to lead the event. He has announced they will host the ceremony on the night of December 11 to 12, 2025, streaming live online. Fans can watch the event live on Twitch and YouTube.
In 2024, the standout game was Astro Bot who took home the title of Game of the Year. Several other titles, such as Balastro and Metaphor: Refantazio, also made waves across different categories. This year, a French game broke through and topped the charts... Here are the winners of the 2025 edition.
The French have every reason to celebrate: the game Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 took home nine awards, including the coveted Game of the Year, out of its 13 nominations! A major achievement for the French studio Sandfall Interactive.
The Game Awards are also an opportunity for video game studios to unveil their next titles, new trailers or release dates, sometimes creating some nice surprises! But what we're all really looking forward to, of course, is discovering the voting results, and finding out who the winners are, the best games of the year that we can add to our Santa list. In our sights, the GOTY (Game of the Year), of course, which will undoubtedly see its sales soar before the holidays.
It's also an opportunity for gamers to get an idea of the best games currently available to ask for for Christmas or to put under the tree. All you have to do is make your choice... Get your controllers ready!
