Here is a long-awaited release... After showing its nose at the Summer Game Fest last year, The Plucky Squire, a game developed by the young studio All Possible Futures, is back to remind us with a trailer unveiled at the PlayStation Showcase, which was held this Wednesday, May 24, 2023. A new trailer that continues to captivate video game fans... And for good reason: the game features both 2D and 3D phases, offering a new perspective to the adventures of the hero the player embodies.
What is the pitch of this software? You play as Jot, a brave squire from a children's book who lives his own adventures within the pages of this book... until he leaves these pages to live other adventures outside of it, in the children's room where the book is located. A game graphically impeccable, at least as shown in the trailer, and imagined by James Turner, artist who worked for GameFreak, on the Pokémon saga.
Concerning the game in question, two phases seem to take shape: a first one in 2D, with different views, on the pages of the book, offering various gameplay mechanics, and a second one in 3D, looking more like a platform game, outside the book. Two "phases" of gameplay that will have to be alternated in order to progress in the children's room, through books and other images on game boxes.
As for the release date, the game is still announced for 2023, without having any precision on a date. The Plucky Squire will be released on PC, PS5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch. To your controllers!
