Cities: Skyline II: release date and gameplay revealed at Xbox Showcase

2015 saw the release of Cities: Skyline, a simulation/city builder unanimously appreciated by fans of the genre. In 2023, its successor is finally showing its face: Cities: Skyline II is revealed in an unexpected, but very welcome trailer. The game is scheduled for release on October 24, 2023, on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Paradox Interactive is once again at the helm of this opus, which promises to be " the most realistic city builder of all time. "

This June 12, 2023, at the Xbox Showcase, Paradox Interactive revealed new information about its game. The trailer focused on the game 's gameplay, revealing some construction features.

This second trailer thus confirms the promise made by the first: the player is at the center of the city, and is entirely free to make his city evolve as he wishes. Build roads in total freedom, manage traffic and public transport, take into account climate, economy, seasons, water andelectricity issues to build a pleasant and functional city. We're still hoping that this new opus will feature an even bigger map, new options for building and managing the city, and perhaps a very realistic or rather futuristic design.

Paradox Interactive's website also reveals some surprising and intriguing information... Several DLCs are already planned, if we are to believe the line-up published on the site. Pre-ordering will give access to various expansions, including a pack based around San Francisco. In 2024, Paradox Interactive is also planning several DLCs, which should enable you to add beaches, bridges and harbors, amodern architectural style and different music radios to your game.
