The twists and turns of motocross tracks no longer reveal the same face from one lap to the next... MXGP 26, a racing game developed by the Lyon-based studio Artefacts Studio and published by NACON, is available since October 1, 2026 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series. The official video game of the FIM Motocross World Championship continues the 2026 season, with revised physics, a new helmet-cam view, and tracks that deform as riders pass by.
To accompany the release, NACON unveils a launch trailer for MXGP 26. The game is now powered by Unreal Engine 5, featuring highly detailed models of motorcycles, riders, and official gear. The publisher is aiming for 60 frames per second: a technical target whose real-world performance will vary by platform once you get hands-on.
No storyline to speak of here: MXGP 26 invites you to line up for the FIM Motocross World Championship, featuring riders from the MXGP and MX2 classes, along with the teams and bikes of the official 2026 season. The goal is to master the tracks and take on the competition, whether in a single race or across an entire championship.
This edition underwent two years of overhaul, with changes the studio says were guided by player feedback. The driving physics now takes into account mass transfers, while the pilot’s body movements automatically adapt to bumps and loss of traction. It’s set to change how you tackle accelerations, corners, and jumps.
The helmet view offers a first-person perspective. But the real novelty that could most change players’ habits lies in the dynamic terrain deformation: the repeated passes of the motorcycles carve out persistent ruts. The most efficient lines therefore evolve lap by lap, forcing players to watch the track and adjust their riding.
Several modes let you set your pace. Grand Prix and Time Attack grant access to quick sessions, while the Championship mode lets you compete in a full tournament. The online multiplayer online multiplayer supports up to ten players. To refine your lines and jumps, The Compound offers an open-world training space spanning several square kilometers.
The game features 19 international circuits, each with distinct surface characteristics: the sand of Riola Sardo in Sardinia, the compact earth of Pietramurata in Italy, or the volcanic soil of Bariloche in Argentina.
On the track side, MXGP 26 brings together the official riders from the MXGP and MX2 classes, including Romain Febvre, Jeffrey Herlings and Kay de Wolf. The announced content also features 16 official bikes, drawn from nine manufacturers: KTM, Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, Husqvarna, GasGas, Triumph, Fantic and Beta.
The release is accompanied by a Deluxe edition dubbed Fox Holeshot Edition. It adds five exclusive Fox liveries to customize the bikes, as well as access to MXGP TV, allowing fans to watch the races live and go behind the scenes of the real FIM World Championship. The press release, however, does not specify how long this access lasts.
MXGP 26 has been available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series since October 1, 2026. The challenge now is to master these dynamic tracks, where a solid first-lap line can falter on later sections.
