A worthy successor to Dead Space? This is the path that Fort Solis seems to be taking, a space thriller developed by Fallen Leaf and particularly awaited by fans of the genre. It is scheduled to be released on PC and PS5 in the summer of 2023. A software that shows itself in a gameplay trailer, highlighting an eerie and captivating atmosphere.
Casting side, renowned actors Troy Baker (Joel in The Last of Us) and Roger Clark (Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2) lend their voices to the main characters, adding to the interest generated by this game. First announced at Summer Game Fest 2022, Fort Solis transports players to Mars, to a space station where engineer Jack Leary, played by Roger Clark, realizes that all traces of humans have mysteriously disappeared.
Taking place mainly inside the Fort Solis space station, but also on the surface of Mars, the game promises to be very narrative, with actions having important consequences that can influence the outcome of the story. Fort Solis is often compared to Dead Space, a sci-fi horror game whose remake was released earlier this year, although the two titles have notable differences in terms of storyline and environment. Fans of space horror games will thus be able to immerse themselves in a new and exciting universe, after the small disappointment of The Callisto Protocol, which failed to convince players despite expectations (and which convinced us, anyway).
The prestigious voice cast of Fort Solis is a major asset for the game. In addition to Roger Clark, Troy Baker, one of the most renowned voice actors in the video game industry, plays Wyatt Taylor, another main character. A game that promises to be a promising title in the world of space horror video games. Thanks to its scary atmosphere, its captivating scenario and its quality voice cast, it could well succeed Dead Space.
