Get ready to start your engines with the latest installment in Ubisoft's racing game series, The Crew Motorfest! Announced in January 2023, this new episode is scheduled to launch on September 14, 2023 on various platforms, including Xbox One, PS4, PC, Xbox Series, PS5 and Amazon Luna. This new opus takes a bold turn away from the original concept of The Crew series, drawing more inspiration from Forza Horizon. Let's take a look at the latest trailer, unveiled at Gamescom 2023.

The Crew Motorfest trailers:

The Crew Motorfest invites you to discover the Hawaiian archipelago, more specifically the breathtaking island of O'ahu. Players will have the opportunity to take part in frantic races in the bustling city of Honolulu, test their off-road driving skills on the ashen slopes of a volcano or negotiate the perfect turn on the circuits. They can even relax by lounging on sun-drenched beaches behind the wheel of their favorite supercar, or jump into a buggy to explore hidden trails in the lush rainforest.

What sets The Crew Motorfest apart is its impressive collection of over 600 vehicles, including race cars, electric supercars, and other iconic cars such as the Lamborghini Revuelto, Toyota Supra, Hummer EV or Porsche Taycan Turbo S. What's more, the game features a playlist system that promises players a rich and diverse driving experience. These playlists are series of short themed campaigns offering unique driving challenges. Fifteen playlists will be available from launch, each offering immersion in a different automotive universe and a series of exclusive challenges and rewards to unlock.

The icing on the cake is the ability to import your garage from The Crew 2 for free, adding extra value for long-time fans of the franchise. What's more, Ubisoft plans to keep players interested over the long term with the constant addition of new events and a live service aspect that will be very present in the months or years following release. The game will also feature special editions, including a Gold Edition and an Ultimate Edition, offering benefits such as early access and exclusive vehicle packs. And to reassure fans of the title, good news: the game won the award for Best Operating Service at Pegasus 2024.

Our preview of The Crew Motorfest:

Although the game was released in September, we let ourselves be tempted by the experience during a demo at Paris Games Week. And we're not going to lie: we really enjoyed Ubisoft's racing game, on several counts! First of all, the publisher's willingness to offer all types of terrain for this 15-minute demo. As a result, we were able to play on all types of terrain with several types of car, to get a good overview.

So, in terms of gameplay, there's as much as there are cars! Note that this preview was carried out on PC, with pedals and steering wheels. Getting to grips with the game was a little tricky (it took us a while to figure out how to put it in reverse), but once mastered, it's a joy to experiment with. Everything reacts with great precision to the terrain, and each type of car can be driven differently, so there's never a dull moment. For a racing game, that's a pretty good point!

As for the story, it's just what you'd expect from a racing game, without breaking the mould. That's all we need. Graphically speaking, however, it's on this point that we'd like to make a small criticism. Although the software is very beautiful, we did notice a few inequalities in the rendering of certain textures (trees in particular), but this doesn't spoil the experience, which remains particularly enjoyable. The Crew Motorfest is a great value for all racing fans. We'd certainly be tempted to buy it for Christmas!

In short, The Crew Motorfest promises an exhilarating and diverse gaming experience for racing fans. With a heavenly setting, an impressive collection of vehicles and an innovative playlist system, this game has all the ingredients needed to captivate players and keep them on their toes for many hours. So get ready to get behind the wheel and make your engines roar in The Crew Motorfest!
