Ratchet and Clank fans, mark your calendars! PlayStation Studios' masterpiece, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, is making a comeback, this time on PC, on July 26, 2023. This port, previously a PS5 exclusive, will be available on Steam and Epic Games Store. It was supervised by Nixxes Software, a specialized studio acquired by Sony in 2021, guaranteeing a port of excellent quality.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart offers a unique and immersive gaming experience. In addition to its keyboard and mouse compatibility, the game will maintain the integration of the PlayStation DualSense controller, including haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. The technologies embodied in this port are the subject of great promise on the part of the development studio. However, one question remains regarding the game's adaptation on PC: storage management. While Microsoft's Direct Storage technology could enable replication of the PS5 's SSD usage on PCs, no information on this subject has yet been divulged by Sony. It remains to be seen how the company and its development studio will approach this question.
