Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4, a remastered compilation of the two skateboarding games developed by Iron Galaxy Studios, is available on PC (via Steam, Microsoft Store and Battle.net), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 from July 11, 2025.
Following on from the remasters of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2, this new version retains the content of the original opuses released in 2001 and 2002, while adding graphical and gameplay improvements. All the skateparks from the original games are included, as well as a brand-new level called Waterpark, an abandoned structure with various ramps and obstacles.
On the roster side, the skateboarders present in the previous remaster return, accompanied by newcomers such as Rayssa Leal, Chloe Covell, Jamie Foy, Zion Wright and Yuto Horigome. The soundtrack remains a key element of the game, with a selection of tracks from the original games, including Adolescents' Amoeba, Motörhead' s Ace of Spades and Gang Starr's Mass Appeal, as well as previously unreleased tracks yet to be revealed.
The game will feature an online multiplayer mode for up to eight players in crossplay. The Create-A-Park mode will also enable users to design and share their own customized skateparks. Note that all pre-orders will give access to a playable demo in June, allowing users to test two skateparks with a limited choice of skateboarders and soundtrack tracks.

So, what is this remaster of Tony Hawk worth? A good vintage, certainly, since fans of the genre will be able to rediscover the original sensations. And with good reason: the gameplay remains identical for both the third and fourth installments. The only difference in the 4th opus is the abandonment of the "open world" section, decried by fans at the time, in favor of a more classic version with timed levels. It's well done, and we're not going to deny ourselves the pleasure of hurtling down the ramps!
Graphically speaking, the game has undergone some nice improvements, notably on the textures, even if we're not in a state-of-the-art game as far as graphics are concerned. But that's not what we're asking of the game: what players want is fluidity to achieve the desired figures, and from that point of view, it's very successful.
There's just one drawback: for neophytes like us, handling the game is complicated by the many keys and key combinations to remember. But the basics are easy to learn, as long as you follow the tutorial. If, like us, you're new to skateboarding, we'd advise you to learn the moves step by step, first from the tutorial, then in practice on a map, and so on until you've mastered everything to perfection.
A game we'd recommend to all fans of the franchise, who'll be able to rediscover the essence of the saga. For the rest of you, you can give it a try if you like, but you'll have to stick with it. There's also a very nice soundtrack, relatively different from the original in that three-quarters of the original tracks have been replaced. A choice made by Tony Hawk himself, to make the musical ambience more modern and appeal to younger players.
All in all, a nice experience to discover if you're feeling nostalgic!
