In Resident Evil Requiem, players take on the role of Grace Ashcroft, daughter of journalist Alyssa Ashcroft, who returns to Raccoon City eight years after her mother's death. During Paris Games Week, our editorial team got their hands on the demo of this long-awaited game for fans of the franchise... And they won't be disappointed, because the horror is definitely there, lurking in the shadows and waiting for the right moment to make you jump with fear!
Graphically speaking, it's very beautiful. The game (at least from what we've seen) is well-balanced, very clean and fluid. We particularly appreciate the lighting effects, which are extremely well done. The "monster" that chases us (yes, you're being chased by a monster, for a change...) is terrifying, and your heart will race during these chases.
In terms of gameplay, there are no major changes from previous installments, but it's still just as effective. Basically, you have to find objects to unlock passages and escape from the hospital where you're locked up. And of course, you have to stay quiet and avoid light when the monster appears, or you'll be devoured and transformed.
