Explosive duels between iconic superheroes await in theMarvel universe! Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, the fighting game developed by Arc System Works in partnership with PlayStation, is currently in preparation. Scheduled for consoles at an as yet unspecified date, the title features four-on-four battles at the heart of theMarvel universe. A first selection of characters and a playable arena have been confirmed, revealing the first elements of a roster and environment familiar to comic book fans.
The first playable characters announced draw on some of the franchise's iconic figures. This selection features both superheroes and supervillains, from different eras of the publishing house. Here is the current list of confirmed characters:
As for the arenas, only one has been revealed to date. It's aMarvel-inspired version of New York City, designed to allow dynamic transitions between different environments during combat:
The rest of the playable content has yet to be revealed. Future announcements will probably complete this initial cast and specify the final number of arenas available at launch. No further official information has been released on gameplay mechanics at this stage. We can't wait!
