It's up to you to protect the village and its peace, with your sword and a little magic... Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree synopsis:

" Dive into the lost world of this Roguelite where ancestral forces and chaos awaken. Help Towa and the celestial children forge powerful bonds and swords to fight Magatsu's army and decide the fate of Shinju village. "

A world of vibrant colors, imagery reminiscent of Japanese mythology and settings inspired by ancient Japan: Towa and the Sacred Tree takes us into a world of wonder... But not without danger.

This game is a Roguelite, meaning that players chain together rooms or screens where they must fight enemies. With each battle, the character becomes stronger. Even in the event of death, the character improves. In Towa, you move from screen to screen, battling new monsters and collecting bonuses once you've beaten them all.

Characters have two weapons at their disposal: the sword and the staff. Each character has his or her own abilities. The game is played with a duo of characters, so you can combine the different abilities of each to create effective combos.

The game encourages us to talk to the villagers and watch the village evolve as we progress. Behind the combat lies an interesting lore, which gradually reveals itself to players who take the time to discover it.

Our test of Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree :

We tested a twenty-minute demo of this game on PS5.

During this session, we were able to string together several battles, and appreciate thestrong visual identity of this game, which should appeal to Japanese fans.

Combat mechanics are very simple: you can play with one weapon at short range, and the other at longer range. You also need to master the powers of both characters to inflict as much damage as possible on enemies. Controls are quickly learned, and the game is enjoyed without too much frustration.

The demo didn't allow us to get into the story, nor to see any real progression; we stayed very much on the surface of the game. But the game we tested pleased us enough to make us want to see more...

A new adventure awaits you this autumn, so sharpen your swords and get ready for battle!
