The opening of Tang Frères, the Asian supermarket in Colombes, Hauts-de-Seine, has been marred by delays. Initially slated for 2024 and then postponed to late 2025, the store still hasn’t opened in spring 2026, but there’s reason for optimism: the famed retailer has announced a forthcoming opening.

It’s a saga that just won’t quit, and the residents of Colombes and its surroundings in the Hauts-de-Seine are officially running out of patience. The Tang Frères store in the 92 was first pegged for autumn 2024, then pushed to late 2025. Now, in 2026, the chain has dropped a fresh schedule on its social channels: an opening in the autumn 2026, “probably,” it notes on its Instagram account, with no official date announced yet.

Where is Tang Frères opening in Colombes?

The new shop is set to open on Boulevard Marceau in Colombes (92700), at the former Bricorama site. It will mark the brand’s very first footprint in western Île-de-France. Until now, Tang Frères’ stores have been concentrated in southeast Paris, centered around the historic 13th‑arrondissement outlet at 48 Avenue d'Ivry, and extending into Seine-Saint-Denis, Val-de-Marne, and Seine-et-Marne. This leaves a geographic gap for residents of La Défense, Nanterre, or Colombes who must cross Paris to stock up on Asian groceries.

When will Tang Frères in Colombes open in 2026?

The chain says it's "still very much on the agenda for this year", but without a precise date. "No official date yet, but probably by the back-to-school 2026 period," she adds. After years of twists, the project now seems to be taking shape. This dossier was first confirmed at the start of 2024 by former Colombes mayor Patrick Chaimovitch, who at the time spoke of a space with a depot area, a wholesale section, and on-site sales. The chantier has since given the impression of slowing down, with metal shutters down for several consecutive months. Evidence that the wait is felt: Colombiens are already growing impatient on social media, and the slightest post from the chain triggers dozens of comments. In the meantime, the Tang Frères d'Herblay-sur-Seine, in the Val-d'Oise, is moving forward for real. It is currently recruiting staff for a planned opening this summer.

What you’ll find at Tang Frères

For those who haven’t yet heard of the brand, a quick refresher is in order. Founded in 1976 by the Tang brothers, Lao refugees of Chinese origin, the chain began as a small grocery store before becoming one of Europe’s leading importers and distributors of Asian products. It offers a wide range of Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese and Korean products: exotic fruits and vegetables, rice, noodles, sauces, frozen dumplings and mochi, spring rolls, fish, seafood, but also beverages like green tea or sake, cooking utensils, and Korean and Japanese cosmetics. A true tour of the continent in a single checkout, in short.

We’ll update this article as soon as a date is confirmed. In the meantime, the full list of stores is available on the official Tang Frères site. For fans of Asian cuisine in western Paris, you’ll still have to bide your time a little longer.
