And what would Fashion Week be without the undisputed queen of punk chic: Vivienne Westwood? It all kicked off in the 1970s in London with her provocative shop "SEX," opened with Malcolm McLaren, the manager of the Sex Pistols. Together, they blew apart the rules with an anarchic, highly political style. In 1981, she electrified fashion with her first collection, "Pirates," gradually imprinting her world on the runways. True to her rebellious spirit, she turned fashion into a weapon against consumerism and a manifesto for the planet. Provocative, engaged and visionary, she left an indelible mark on generations before passing away in 2022. Since then, Andreas Kronthaler, her husband and longtime collaborator, has steered the creative at the House, with shows now bearing his stamp under the label Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood. The Westwood DNA remains very much alive: corsets, historic reappropriations, theatrical silhouettes and irreverence as ever.
