Founded in 1950, his House revolutionized fashion with structured cuts and avant-garde materials. In 1954, he invented the bubble dress, and in 1959, he shocked haute couture by launching ready-to-wear in a department store - sacrilege then, genius now. After his death in 2020, the label passed into the hands of Rodrigo Basilicati-Cardin, the designer's nephew, without losing any of its visionary DNA. On March 6, 2024, a commemorative plaque was unveiled at the corner of rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré and avenue de Marigny, the emblematic location where the historic boutique reopened its doors.
