Among the top names in fashion is Hermès. From runway shows and events to special performances and equestrian competitions, every appearance by the House of Hermès always attracts considerable attention. For this upcoming edition of Fashion Week, the Hermès runway show is scheduled to take place on January 24, 2026.
The brand was founded by Thierry Hermès in 1801 in Krefeld, a German town annexed to France and renowned for its textile industry. In 1837, the eponymous designer opened his factory in Paris, on rue Basse-du-Rempart, before moving years later to 24 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. At the time, Hermès was designing equestrian equipment.
Over the years, the company evolved. At the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, it took a gamble on the growth of luggage, then became a Maison de Couture in the 1920s. The first silk carré was created in 1929 by stylist Lola Prusac. This was followed by an entire collection, giving the house its signature look!
Today, Hermès has diversified. In addition to its sleek, cutting-edge fashion collections, the company now offers equally precious jewelry and fragrance lines.
