Paris Design Week 2026: must-see installations in gardens and courtyards to visit before September 19

The outdoor installations of Paris Design Week are still to be explored for a few more days in the capital’s gardens and courtyards, ahead of the event wrapping up on September 19, 2026.

Some doors are worth peeking behind. With Paris Design Week, Paris is experienced differently from September 10 to 19, 2026, as exhibitions and installations turn design into an experience to live as much as to observe. The event invites you to shift your perspective on the city and to discover creations conceived in direct dialogue with the spaces that host them. Ten days to see design converse with the city and its settings.

For this guide, we’re skipping the gates and heading straight for Paris’s gardens and courtyards of the city. Behind the façades of private mansions, and of museums and institutions, the cobblestones and flowerbeds host contemporary works that make full use of the surroundings. Vegetation, light and architecture sometimes become part of the installation, while some pieces simply change how the space is used, at least for the duration of a visit. A few more design pauses in settings that are already worth a detour, between discreet courtyards and historic gardens.
