The aim is to spark a love of reading in the youngest readers, the bet of the national campaign "Partir en livre", launched at the initiative of the Ministry of Culture and organized across France by the National Book Center (CNL), for more than ten years. The grand celebration of children's literature returns for a new summer edition from June 17 to July 19, 2026, under a unifying theme: our little and big heroes!
On the menu: literary strolls, writing and drawing contests, exhibitions, meet-ups, special selections to be found in bookstores, gifts, public readings, games, autograph sessions, live-action games... numerous free events are organized in Île-de-France! Find in detail the festival's program near you thanks to the interactive map available on the event's website.
This year, Laure Grandbesançon, a radio producer and French actress (Les Odyssées), and Emmanuel Guibert, a comic artist and writer (Ariol), are the godmother and godfather. For a good stretch of the summer holidays, kids can hop from one activity to another, fueling their curiosity and their appetite for reading. What could be better than chatting about books to make new friends? Reading is a moment of joy and sharing, whether alone or with others!
Partir en livre speaks to both kids and teens, even before the summer holidays kick off! Just like last year, the Livrodrome is back: a traveling literary amusement park that tours France, with six stops planned, including Saint-Germain-en-Laye (78). At the foot of apartment buildings, on the beaches, under a tent, or from home, enjoy thousands of activities!
