For the first time, Ground Control invites you to come and discover the vast world of science, through fun experiments or workshops, but also games, meetings and other fun and free activities. The aim of the Double Science festival is to popularize a field that can sometimes seem very inaccessible to the general public, and to bring out all kinds of knowledge! Many speakers, journalists, researchers, popularizers, artists... will be present to accompany you in your discoveries, from May 26 to 28, 2023!
For this edition, you can take advantage of thematic routes, according to your desires: a good student plan, a family discovery or a cultural outing? On the spot, even the food becomes scientific, thanks to the food court held by the Café des Sciences or the scientific cocktail, a clever mix of chemistry offered at the festival bars. The mirror of a telescope from theParis Observatory is installed in the heart of the festival, to observe up close, in real size, what allows us to see so far into space. Among the proposed experiments, you can discover the usefulness of particle gas pedals, via spectacular animations! It will be a real eye-opener and a brain-buster.
A musical stage is invited on Saturday to make you discover the talent of three musicians passionate about science: Youenn Lerb, Fast and Furious and Dr Futuro. And to make nostalgic those of you who knew the TV show"C'est pas sorcier", Fred Courant will come for a moment of scientific popularization! On the program, you will also find a virtual reality and board games area, professional round tables, an exhibition about 15 female physicists, and even meetings to create vocations among young people.
