It's a season that many Parisians look forward to. Synonymous with the sometimes stifling heat, overflowing terraces, multiple ice cream tastings and bucolic picnics, summer is also the season for music festivals. While they spring up all over Paris and the Île-de-France region, and multiply a little more each summer season, there are very few music festivals that are accessible free of charge.
And yet, they do exist. From the Défense jazz festival to the Paris Jazz Festival and Classique au vert, there's plenty to enjoy. These free musical events are a delight for music lovers who are careful with their wallets, but not only!
