Fontainebleau Book Fair: book signings, meetings and conferences in Seine-et-Marne (77)

On September 27, 2025, Fontainebleau becomes the meeting point for literature enthusiasts, hosting conferences, workshops and book signings for a day dedicated to reading.

On September 27, 2025, the town of Fontainebleau, in the Seine-et-Marne region, welcomes you to its book festival! Join us at the Théâtre Municipal and the Hôtel de l'Aigle Noir for a host of conferences, meetings and book signings with various authors, as well as violin music at the end of the day. While access to the book signings is free, the conferences and the closing candle-lit writing workshop are not.

Novelists, historians, essayists, children's authors and cartoonists await the public to share their stories in a beautiful setting, from 10 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.!

Laure Grandbesançon invites children aged 6 to 12 to take a behind-the-scenes look at the history of France for the publication of the new volume of "Odyssées, 40 récits incroyables" (Les Arènes).

  • 11 a.m. - 11:45 a.m., at the theater - Adèle Hugo and Miles Franklin: women who love freedom

One, the daughter of Victor Hugo, tries to emerge from her father's shadow, the other, the daughter of farmers in Australia, fights against the misogyny of her time. Their freedom will come through writing.

Is Mozart really a genius? Who commissioned his Requiem? Is he Salieri's rival?

  • 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm, at the theater - How can we be happy in an unfair world?

In a world where not everything depends on us, how can we fight against what seems unfair? Where can we find the strength to live our happiness to the full?

  • 8 pm - 9:30 pm, at the theater - Candlelight writing workshop: "Write a letter to someone who really matters to you".

To close the book festival, take up the pen and dare to write to someone, guided by author Maud Jan Ailleret. Materials provided.
