Paris has many attractive tourist districts. One of them attracts as many tourists as locals: the Montmartre district, of course, and its famous hilltop. But before you can reach the foot of the Sacré-Coeur and admire the view from its heights, you have to overcome a major challenge...
In fact, over 200 steps await those brave enough to climb to the top of the Butte Montmartre. Others may prefer to take the funicular, for a quicker ascent.
But on June 5, 2025, the funicular is out of the question. Your legs are going to get hot, but your efforts will be rewarded: take part in a vertical solidarity race on June 5, 2025, starting at 4 p.m., in aid of children with heart malformations.
For the fifth year running, hotel chain HappyCulture is organizing a race that's a bit unusual in that it's vertical! The aim is to climb all the steps leading to the top of Montmartre Hill in under 30 seconds! Each time you take part, the brand will donate 100 euros to Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque, to help fund heart surgery for a number of sick children. By 2023, nearly 70,000 euros had been raised thanks to this race and five children operated on. And on Instagram, for every like of the post dedicated to the operation on race day, 1 euro is also donated!
Olympic athletes, sportsmen and women, Koh-Lanta adventurers and other personalities will be on hand to help you make the climb. The record to beat is French sprinter Jimmy Vicaut's 32 seconds! Meet up at the foot of the funicular, of course, for 36 meters of ascent! Will you beat him, who climbs the hill in under 1 minute 30?
