Shortly before the start of the legendary Roland-Garros tournament, urban tennis arrives just a stone's throw away, in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, at the heart of the Molitor swimming pool. From May 15 to June 15, 2025, the venue and the FFT will be staging a brand-new pop-up around the sport, featuring a mix of sport andurban art both in the lobby decorated by ten artists and on the artistic court designed by Sitou Matt.
Coming from the urban scene, each artist unveils an original work inspired by the world of tennis, based on the codes of the game, gestures, emotions and values conveyed by the sport. A veritable Urban Tennis court is also set up, designed by Sitou Matt, a multi-disciplinary artist renowned for his immersive and committed creations, both a living work of art and a sporting space. While the exhibition in the lobby is accessible free of charge from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., the court is only open to hotel guests.
What isurban tennis? It's a variant of tennis that can be played without any infrastructure, in the street or anywhere else, as long as you have a portable net and balls! A flat surface is all you need, and you can play with a racket as well as with your feet. An urbanization of the sport that aims to make it more accessible!
