In the Seine-et-Marne region, in the small village of Montmachoux, there's a farm that's going out of business. Here, you won't find chickens, sheep or rabbits, but rather ostriches! Visits resume on April 1, 2024.

Welcome to L'Autruche rieuse, themost unusual ostrich farm in Seine-et-Marne, located in Montmachoux. Sylvette and Emmanuel have been raising ostriches, rheas and emus here since 1987, with between 1,000 and 1,200 hatchlings every year!

On site, you can visit the farm and take it easy with the world's largest birds, best known for laying the world's largest eggs, each weighing up to 2 kilos! For an hour or two, the farm's guides will take you on an unusual tour of these very special animals. Every day we're open, at 3 p.m., take the guided family tour and immerse yourself in the ostrich farm.

Also on site, the farm's restaurant invites you to sample some atypical products: ostrich steak, zebra, antelope or crocodile, here the dishes come from elsewhere and everything is cooked on site, at the Montmachoux farm, in recipes for burgers, crêpes, sandwiches, and so on. Finally, before you leave the farm, don't miss a trip to the store, where you can pick up eggs, meat, feathers, ostrich skin and leather... For an unusual outing with the kids, head for L'Autruche rieuse, in Montmachoux, to find out all about ostriches!
