Created in 1975 to unite the ancestral agricultural heritage of Villiers-le-Bâcle with the modernity of the Plateau de Saclay, the Ferme du Bel Air is a socio-educational project run by local residents to revitalize the area. Since then, numerous animals have joined the farm's enclosures and large vegetable gardens have been cultivated: welcome to this little haven of greenery and nature!
At the Ferme du Bel Air, you can stroll, discover and take a family walk to meet the funny residents of the farm: you'll meet Praline the rabbit, Jean-Baptiste the peacock and his sweetheart Isabelle (turkey),Hansel and Gretel the pigs... But also Quenouille, Saucisse, Mistinguette the sheep, Salsa and Hico the donkeys, Michonne the goat, and so on. Yes, it's busy at the Bel Air farm, and that's without counting the bees from the educational apiary, which quietly gather their food on the Saclay plateau.
A large orchard is cultivated on site with large fruit trees (apple, cherry, pear...), there's also a barefoot sensory trail where you have to take off your shoes, and occasionally the orchard turns into a picnic area in fine weather! Continue your stroll to the vegetable and aromatic gardens, where you can observe seasonal fruits and vegetables, or take part in special events.
The Ferme du Bel Air opens its doors to families every Sunday, from 2pm to 6pm insummer and 2pm to 5pm in winter. You can also join the farm's association to come every Saturday all day long (€20 per family per year): workshops are scheduled every week! Let's go and discover this lovely educational farm less than an hour from Paris?
