La Nuit des Choses: an unusual musical nocturne at the Louvre Museum

The Musée du Louvre presents "La Nuit des Chose", an exceptional nocturne to be experienced on Friday, January 13, 2023 from 6:30pm! On the program? Live music by Thylacine, a performance by Jacques, a meeting with Neil MacGrégor, a show with Etienne Saglio and Bachar Mar Kalifé, not forgetting a mini-tour of the "Les Choses, une histoire de la Nature Morte" exhibition.

If you've always dreamed of strolling through the aisles of the Louvre museum by night, then the following may well please you. France's most visited museum is organizing an unusual musical nocturne on Friday, January 13, 2023, from 6.30 pm to 10 pm. Called"La Nuit des Choses", this event offers a moment suspended in time, with concerts, performances, workshops and encounters. Offered exclusively to coincide with the final days of the " Les Choses, une histoire de la Nature Morte " exhibition, this nocturne invites us to explore our relationship with objects in a festive and poetic way.

In terms of programming, this nocturne at the Musée du Louvre goes all out, welcoming a number of prestigious artists from the electro world, including Jacques and Thylacine. The former will present a brand-new version of his"Phonochose" performance in the museum's Cour Khorsabad, while the latter will close the night with an exclusive live performance under the mythical Pyramid.

Meanwhile, magician Etienne Saglio and artist Bachar Mar-Kalifé will unveil a never-before-seen show in the Cour Marly. Look out for a truly poetic and aerial experience!

And don't miss an original encounter with Neil MacGrégor, or introductory mini-visits to the " Les Choses, une histoire de la Nature Morte " exhibition.

  • Exhibition: Les Choses, une histoire de la Nature Morte

  • Performance: Phonochose by Jacques
    Cour Khorsabad, non-stop from 6:30pm to 9pm
    Surrounded by the most motley of objects, electro-artist Jacques presents a brand-new version of his"Phonochose" performance, in which everyday sounds are recorded and mixed live to gradually build an unidentified sound object.

  • Show: Objet fantôme with Etienne Saglio & Bachar Mar-Kalifé
    Cour Marly, at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 pm - Duration: 10 min approx.
    Accompanied by the piano and voice of Bachar Mar Kalifé, magician Etienne Saglio presents a version of his performance " Objet fantôme ".

  • Rencontre: Un portrait du Louvre en 10 objets trouvés by Neil MacGrégor
    Groups welcome - lower level, at 7:30 pm
    Surrounded by a selection of objects carefully chosen from among those lost or abandoned by visitors, Neil MacGrégor - author of the bestseller L'histoire du Monde en 100 objets - paints a surprising 50-minute portrait of the world's greatest museum, based on the traces its visitors leave behind.
    No registration required, subject to availability / Duration: approx. 50 min.

  • Workshops: Living Still Life with the Playtronica collective
    Studio, 6.30 pm to 9 pm
    In the Studio's spaces, join the Playtronica collective to create your own interactive installation inspired by the exhibition"Les Choses, une histoire de La Nature Morte".

  • Concert: Live by Thylacine under the Pyramid
    Pyramide, 9:00 pm to 9:30 pm
    French electro phenomenon, producer and composer Thylacine, invites you to a closing concert under the Louvre Pyramid.

  • Bar éphémère: DJ set by Birrd at Café Goguette
    Pyramide, 6:30pm-9pm
    Do you like good food? Take advantage of the ephemeral bar on the mezzanine of the Richelieu wing for a short break with Birrd and his turntables.
