Once again, numerous artists released new albums in 2025. But which artists topped the sales charts this year in France? Which musical styles are making the biggest impact? Find the answers in the ranking of the 200 best-selling albums in France in 2025. This Top 200, compiled by the Snep (the national organization for phonographic sales), was unveiled on Monday, December 29, 2025.
Unsurprisingly, rap continues to ride its wave of success, with 13 spots out of the Top 20 held by rap artists (up from 12 last year). At the top of the chart, we find Gims, who performed no less than five sold-out shows at Paris La Défense Arena this December. The singer, named Male Performer of the Year at the recent Victoires de la Musique, is the artist who sold the most albums in 2025, thanks to his new release titled "Le Nord se souvient (L'odyssée)."
In this Top 20 of the best-selling albums in France in 2025, rapper Jul ranks second with his latest release "D&P à vie". He also secures the 10th spot with "TP sur TP". Among the top albums, you'll also find the late artist Werenoi, who is featured twice at 3rd and 5th places with "Diamant Noir" and "Pyramide 2". The Boss Lady herself, Theodora, lands at number 4, followed by Keblack at 6th, Damso at 7th, L2B at 8th, Tiakola at 9th, while Bouss appears at 11th and 18th, and SDM at 14th position.
We also highlight Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny, who climbs to the twelfth spot with his album "DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS". American singer Billie Eilish, the second woman in this Top 20, comes in at 15th place with her album "Hit Me Hard and Soft". She is followed by Helena (16th) and Santa (17th). Not to be overlooked is the cast of Kpop Demon Hunters, ranked 13th.
This ranking also highlights the strong health of French productions, as the top 10 bestsellers of the year are all by artists produced in France and singing in French! Additionally, three French chanson albums make it into this Top 20 (Helena, Santa, and Pierre Garnier). Overall, 142 French releases (compared to 145 last year) have ranked among the top 200 bestsellers of 2025!
On her side, Taylor Swift scores the year's biggest debut, selling over 66,000 copies in just the first week of her album "The Life of a Showgirl." Meanwhile, Orelsan — who is set to perform at the Paris Accor Arena in December 2026 — has delivered the best performance ever for a French artist with "La Fuite en Avant," which sold more than 58,000 copies in its first week. The show "Au Pays des Enfoirés" rounds out the top three, with over 57,000 units sold in just seven days.
And what about female artists? Unfortunately, they remain underrepresented once again in this annual ranking. Only 43 albums in the Top 200 are by women. However, there is a slight uptick compared to last year, which saw 41 projects. This year, five female artists make it into the Top 20 best-selling albums: Theodora, Billie Eilish, Kpop Demon Hunters, Helena, and Santa. Among other women featured in the Top 200, notable mentions include Taylor Swift (21st), Lady Gaga (22nd), Marine (35th), Sabrina Carpenter (39th), and Zaho de Sagazan (50th).
What about French chanson and variety artists? They continue to hold their ground, with several making appearances in this Top 200—namely Helena (16th), Santa (17th), Pierre Garnier (20th), Florent Pagny (29th), Marine (35th), Louane (53rd), Claudio Capéo (54th), France Gall (66th), as well as Julien Doré (67th) and Ben Mazué (84th).
The SNEP also reveals this year's top-selling rock and metal albums in France. Leading the chart is "From Zero" by the American band Linkin Park, followed closely by Indochine. See the full Rock & Metal chart here.
