An eagerly anticipated event for many singers and musicians alike. Every winter for the past 41 years, the industry comes together to honor the best in popular music with prestigious awards.
It was in 1985 that the Victoires de la Musique were launched for the first time, spearheaded by Claude Fléouter, Denys Limon, and Pascale Tardy, along with then-Culture and Communication Minister Jack Lang. That inaugural year saw Jeanne Mas take home the Female Artist of the Year award, while Michel Jonasz secured the Male Artist of the Year. In subsequent years, winners have included icons such as Catherine Lara, Jean-Jacques Goldman, Johnny Hallyday, France Gall, Mylène Farmer, Vanessa Paradis, Patrick Bruel, Alain Bashung, -M-, Renaud, Zazie, Florent Pagny, and more recently, Benjamin Biolay and Pomme have also collected a Victoire.
This year marks the 41st anniversary of the Victoires de la Musique! Hosted by Helena Noguerra and Cyril Féraud, the ceremony will be broadcast live on France 2 and France Inter on Friday, February 13, 2026, starting at 9:10 p.m.
As in previous years, the evening will feature a series of live performances by many of the nominees. The list of contenders for Victoires de la Musique 2026 shows a wide-ranging mix of artists, from celebrated winners like Vanessa Paradis, Santa, and Orelsan, as well as emerging talents like Pierre Garnier. The anticipation is especially high for new faces in the spotlight, with Theodora, Miki, Helena, Ino Casablanca, L2B, and Sam Sauvage all vying for the spotlight in what promises to be a tense race for the new artist award.
It's worth noting that this year's ceremony, which has chosen Mika as the official president of honor, will also honor Nana Mouskouri with a Lifetime Achievement Award and will present a special prize to Nana Mouskouri!
