Metallica at the Stade de France : Five Finger Death Punch cancelled, replaced by Epica as opening act

Bad news for Five Finger Death Punch fans. The American band, which was supposed to open for Metallica on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at the Stade de France, will not be present. They are replaced by the Dutch symphonic metal band Epica.

Metallica fans are more excited than ever! Metallica will play the Stade de France twice this week, on May 17 and 19, 2023. The opportunity for the American thrash metal band to honor their latest opus,"72 Seasons", but also to come back to some of their numerous hits, released with power since 40 years now!

But before seeing James, Lars, Kirk and Rob on the central and circular stage installed at the Stade de France, the public will be entitled to two opening acts, different on both nights.

On May 19, Architects and Mammoth WVH will play. On May 17, for the first of the two Parisian concerts, Metallica had announced the arrival of Ice Nine Kills and Five Finger Death Punch. If the first one is still on the program, the second one will not be able to be present. Five Finger Death Punch, led by Ivan Moody on vocals and Zoltan Bathory on guitar, cancels its appearance and will not be present this Wednesday at the Stade de France.

So, which band will replace Five Finger Death Punch this Wednesday night? Who will open for Metallica on May 17th and will be on the stage of the Stade de France with Ice Nine Kills? Well, it'sEpica! Dutch band led by guitarist and singer Mark Jansen and mezzo-soprano Simone Simons, Epica is a symphonic metal band.

With already ten albums to its credit, including the latest one,"The Alchemy Project" released in 2022, Epica is known for its fiery performances, using some pyrotechnic effects. Recently, the Dutch band was in Paris, alongside the Finnish band Apocalyptica.
