For the first show, scheduled for May 17, the audience of the Stade de France will be pleased to move on the sounds of Epica (following thecancellation of Five Finger Death Punch) and Ice Nine Kills.

Fans of symphonic metal will undoubtedly know Epica. Hailing from the Netherlands, Epica is not new. In the saddle since 2022, the Dutch band is now led by guitarist and singer Mark Jansen and mezzo-soprano Simone Simons.

With already ten albums to its credit, Epica is known for its live performances, often using pyrotechnic effects. Recently,Epica 's fans in Paris were able to bang out some of the band's songs during a concert at the Zenith in Paris, alongside Finnish band Apocalyptica. No doubt that Epica will set the Stade de France on fire on May 17, before Metallica's entrance on stage.

That same evening, the public of the Stade de France will also be able to (re)discover live Ice Nine Kills. Also American, this band from Boston is a metalcore band. Although the band is less known than Five Finger Death Punch, Ice Nine Kills has more years of longevity in terms of career.

The band was formed in 2002 around Spencer Charnas and Jeremy Schwartz, who left the band in 2009. With no less than 6 albums to its credit, Ice Nine Kills intends to show what it is made of!

Architects and Mammoth WVH will open the festivities on May 19, 2023. We start with Architects, also on the bill of the next Hellfest in Clisson. They come from Brighton in Great Britain and have been very successful since the release of their last album, entitled"The Classic Symptoms of a Broken Spirit", notably marked by the single"Deep Fake".

After having already played at the Download Festival Paris in 2017 or at the Olympia in 2019, Architects is now tackling even bigger things by opening for Metallica this spring at the Stade de France.

On the evening of May 19, 2023, the audience of the Stade de France will also have the pleasure of seeing Mammoth WVH as the opening act. For those who don't know it yet, behind the American rock band Mammoth WVH, hides Wolfgang Van Halen, who is none other than the son of guitarist Eddie Van Halen. On tour, Mammoth WVH also consists of Frank Sidoris, and three other musicians on guitar, bass and drums.

With only one album to its credit, Mammoth WVH has already seduced many ears, lovers of catchy rock songs and a powerful and fiery voice, as evidenced by the title " Epiphany ".
