Ever heard of the Sacré Sound Festival? Launched by Laurence Haziza, who has directed the Jazz'N'Klezmer festival for the past 20 years, the Sacré Sound Festival brings together a number of talented artists in some of the capital's most unlikely venues, to the rhythm of a fusion of sounds.
The concept? To blend the sacred with contemporary music, to bring together artists who are prevented elsewhere and protected here, and to offer music that speaks to everyone, whatever their origin, culture or age," reads the official website.
This year, the Sacré Sound Festival returns for a new, second edition to be experienced from May 18 to June 5, 2025. For the occasion, programmed artists will take over the Temple du foyer de l'âme, the Copernic Synagogue and the Paroisse Notre-Dame-des-Blancs-Manteaux.
In terms of programming, Sacré Sound Festival confirms the presence of the Capoeira Luanda group, Brazilian queer capoeirista Puma Camillê, musician Éléonore Fourniau, the celebrated Arthur H, and Israeli-Moroccan artist Neta Elkayam. Also announced are French-Iranian mezzo-soprano Ariana Vafadari with singer-poet Walid Ben Selim, and the duo Sabîl, formed by Ahmad Al Khatib (oud) and Youssef Hbeisch (percussion), with cellist Vincent Segal.
