Just 17 days after his farewell concert at Villa Park in Birmingham, Ozzy Osbourne passed away at the age of 76. Since then, tributes have been pouring in from artists and fans alike. Every day since July 22, thousands of fans have left touching messages, flowers and candles on the famous"Black Sabbath Bench" in Birmingham. The bench is located on Broad Street, just above the bridge named after the legendary British heavy metal band.
This Wednesday, July 30, 2025, a public tribute will be paid to the " Prince of Darkness ". As reported by several English media, including Birmingham Live, a funeral procession will pass through the singer's hometown. The cortege, carrying the artist's remains, and accompanying vehicles will slowly make their way down Broad Street from 1pm (local time) to the"Black Sabbath Bench & Bridge". As the Birmingham City Council website notes, the procession will be accompanied by a brass band of local musicians, the Bostin' Brass, " offering a final musical moment in tribute to the extraordinary life and legacy of Ozzy Osbourne ". The private family funeral will take place later in the day.
" It was important for the city that we supported a fitting and dignified tribute before a private family funeral, " said Zafar Iqbal, Mayor of Birmingham.
According to The Guardian, members of Black Sabbath and Yungblud, who were present at the farewell concert held on July 5, could take part in the event. Fans will be able to follow the tribute via livestream. So, when and how can you see this ultimate tribute to Ozzy Osbourne?
