It's an event that music lovers are likely to follow closely. This September 7, the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, will host the 2025 edition of the MTV Video Music Awards. During the evening, several artists will have the chance to walk away with an award.
This year, Lady Gaga leads the nominations, with a total of 12 nominations, including Artist of the Year. Lady Gaga, who set the MTV Video Music Awards ceremony alight in 2009 with her performance of"Paparazzi", is ahead of Bruno Mars (11 nominations), Kendrick Lamar (10 nominations), Sabrina Carpenter (9), ROSÉ (8), Ariana Grande and The Weeknd (7 each), Billie Eilish and Tate McRae (six each), Charli xcx (5), then Alex Warren, Bad Bunny, Doechii, Ed Sheeran, Jelly Roll, Miley Cyrus and Morgan Wallen (four each).
In addition to the expected awards, the MTV Video Music Awards are also an opportunity to witness some incredible live performances. This year's ceremony promises to be a breathtaking affair, with Lady Gaga set to take to the stage on September 7. Other names announced include Sabrina Carpenter, DJ Snake, Post Malone, Doja Cat and Mariah Carey, who is due to receive the prestigious Vanguard Award at the ceremony.
