While many still have vivid memories of the festive atmosphere at the Paris 2024 Olympics, winter sports enthusiasts are already eagerly eyeing the 2026 Winter Games. From February 6 to 22, Milan will host the 2026 Winter Olympics. Over just over two weeks, viewers can follow live coverage of biathlon, bobsleigh, Nordic combined, curling, ice hockey, luge, figure skating, freestyle skiing, alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, and snowboarding across various channels on France Télévisions.
But the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics will also be an opportunity to experience performances by top international artists, starting with the Opening Ceremony scheduled for February 6. Following legendary artists like Céline Dion, Lady Gaga and Gojira in Paris, get ready to see Mariah Carey take the stage in Milan! The American diva is the first international star announced by the organizing committee for this Winter Olympics opening ceremony in 2026.
“Widely recognized worldwide for her distinctive voice and a musical legacy that transcends generations and cultures, Mariah Carey embodies the very emotion behind the Olympic preparations,” states the organizing committee in an official statement.
As the opening ceremony takes place simultaneously across various venues in Milan, the artist behind the holiday hit "All I Want for Christmas Is You" will perform at the iconic San Siro football stadium.
The organizers of the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics have announced that the main theme of the opening ceremony will revolve around “Harmony.” “This concept will be brought to life through a fusion of cultures, creativity, and participation. Sport, with its core values of equality, respect, and inclusion, amplifies this message, transforming Harmony into a collective experience. Together, music and sport will craft an Olympic Opening Ceremony where Harmony becomes a symbol of shared energy—a space where communities come together, transcend borders, and recognize themselves as part of the same vibrant spirit driving the Winter Games,” the statement explains.
