As each day passes, football fans grow increasingly eager! On February 8, 2026, Levi’s Stadium in California will host the much-anticipated Super Bowl. Like every year, this major sporting event draws millions of viewers in front of their screens. Beyond the game itself, the Super Bowl is also renowned for its spectacular musical performances, including the legendary halftime show. Having featured icons like U2, The Rolling Stones, Prince, Madonna, Beyoncé, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Coldplay, Lady Gaga, Maroon 5, The Weeknd, Rihanna, and Kendrick Lamar, it’s now Bad Bunny’s turn to surprise audiences and deliver the show for this 60th edition of the Super Bowl!

However, both those attending the game at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara and viewers at home will have the chance to catch a special live music lineup just before kickoff. Charlie Puth will perform the US national anthem, Brandi Carlile will sing “America the Beautiful,” and Coco Jones will perform “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”

The NFL, the National Football League responsible for organizing the Super Bowl every year, confirmed on January 18th that Green Day will be taking part! The iconic Californian punk rock band, made up of Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool, will perform at their home stadium on February 8th, kicking off the opening ceremony with a concert held just before kickoff of the American football game. What can fans expect? A playlist featuring some of the band's most legendary hits from their extensive catalog, while past MVPs ("Most Valuable Player", awarded annually to the player with the best individual and team performance) will parade across the Levi's Stadium field in Santa Clara.

« We’re beyond excited to kick off Super Bowl 60 right here at home! It’s a true honor to host the MVPs who've made history in this sport and to launch the night for fans around the globe. Let the party begin! Let the show start! »

It’s worth remembering that Green Day, riding high since 1987, has been behind countless hits, including classics like "Basket Case", "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", "American Idiot", "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" as well as "21 Guns" and "Wake Me Up When September Ends."
