In May, all eyes will be on Vienna, Austria, for the start of the new, 70th edition of the Eurovision. So, who will succeed JJ, Austria’s entrant and last year’s competition winner? For the moment, the suspense remains intact, but early indicators already point to the favourites of the Eurovision, edition 2026.
Good news, since France, represented this year by singer Monroe, is among the five favorites to win. Not far behind, in fourth place, is Australia’s Delta Goodrem. According to the bookmakers, the singer has an 8% chance of taking the crown and a 70% likelihood of finishing in the Top 10. Australia—the largest country in Oceania—has yet to win the Eurovision Song Contest. Its best result dates back to 2016, when Dami Im represented the country with "Sound of Silence."
In 2026, the country has chosen to back Delta Goodrem. So who is she? Born Delta Lea Goodrem, this Sydney-born artist is far from a newcomer. It was in 2002, as an actress, that Delta Goodrem came to prominence, most notably in the Australian soap Neighbours. She quickly pivoted to music, releasing her debut album in 2003, Innocent Eyes, hailed as one of the most successful records in Australian history! Six more albums would follow. Over the course of her career, Delta Goodrem has sold more than nine million albums worldwide, with five albums and nine singles reaching the top spot.
As a singer-songwriter and collaborator, Delta Goodrem has already teamed up with prestigious artists, including Céline Dion, Olivia Newton-John, and Tony Bennett.
Having spent nine seasons as a coach on The Voice Australia, Delta Goodrem now takes on a new challenge: delivering Eurovision glory for Australia. To that end, the singer will perform the track Eclipse. So, will this song make the difference? The answer arrives this spring!
