Nirvana UK: a tribute to Kurt Cobain’s band to be staged at the Olympia in September 2026

In the world of tribute bands, I spotlight Nirvana UK! This inaugural tribute band dedicated to Nirvana is heading back to Paris this autumn. Following a show in March 2025 at La Villette’s Zénith, Nirvana UK now plans to take over the iconic Olympia for a one-night-only event on Friday, September 25, 2026.

An invitation for die-hard fans of the American act to revisit the past and relive on stage some of their legendary songs, performed by a tribute band that feels more authentic than life itself. Nirvana UK thus pledges to stay as faithful as possible to the spirit and energy of Kurt Cobain's band, from his distinctive wardrobe to his onstage dynamism.

Let’s note that Nirvana gave rise to timeless tracks such as “Smells Like Teen Spirit”, “Come as You Are”, “Heart-Shaped Box”, “Lithium”, “The Man Who Sold the World”, “In Bloom”, “About a Girl” or even “Polly”... As a member of the famed Big Four of Seattle, alongside Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains and Soundgarden, Nirvana truly left a mark on an entire generation in the 1990s with their razor-edged grunge and their charismatic frontman, Kurt Cobain, who died on April 5, 1994, at the age of 27.

On September 25, 2026, Nirvana’s classics will echo at the Olympia thanks to the first tribute band dedicated to Kurt Cobain’s group. And as the opening act for Nirvana UK, catch Brain of J, a Pearl Jam tribute band, another flagship act from Seattle’s rock scene.
