On December 7, 2024, Nicko McBrain , the emblematic and historic drummer of Iron Maiden, announced his retirement from touring after 42 years of faithful service with the legendary British heavy metal band. "After careful consideration, it is with sadness and joy that I announce my decision to step back from the touring routine. Today, Saturday, December 7, Sao Paulo will be my last show with IRON MAIDEN. I wish the band continued success in the future," the drummer wrote in a statement. Iron Maiden has thus kicked off its impressive 50th‑anniversary tour with a new drummer, Simon Dawson.

If Nicko McBrain has put an end to touring, the drummer is nevertheless pursuing a range of projects. Notably, he appears in the documentary "Burning Ambition", devoted to the band's 50th anniversary. And that’s not all. On October 22, 2026, Nicko McBrain is slated to publish his memoirs, titled "Hello Boys and Girls!". An opportunity for fans to learn more about this talented drummer who has undeniably contributed to Iron Maiden’s success and fame.
