D Awards: what is this K-pop–focused ceremony scheduled for Paris in 2027?

For several years now, the Paris La Défense Arena has been spotlighting K-pop. South Korean groups have repeatedly graced this vast venue in the Île-de-France. Think of Ateez and G-Dragon, but also the large-scale MCOUNTDOWN event in 2023, and ENHYPEN, slated for 2027. It’s no accident that the Défense arena was chosen to host the D Awards, making its European debut. This K-pop–focused awards ceremony will unfold over two days, on Friday, 15 January and Saturday, 16 January 2027.

conceived by the South Korean daily Sports Dong-A and launched in 2025 in Seoul under the slogan bring dreams and joy to the world through our music, the D Awards ceremony honors the artists who defined the year, as well as the albums and performances that carry K-pop to audiences around the world.

Performances will punctuate the ceremony. The first two editions, held in Seoul on February 22, 2025 and February 11, 2026, welcomed ENHYPEN, Riize, ZEROBASEONE, BOYNEXTDOOR, NCT WISH and P1Harmony. Stay tuned for the line-up of the 2027 D Awards ceremony in Paris.

But the D Awards also provide a platform to bestow a slate of honors based on three combined criteria: online fan votes, music and album sales, and a jury’s assessment. In the inaugural edition, SEVENTEEN was crowned Artist of the Year, while aespa took Song of the Year with “Supernova.” In 2026, at the second edition, Stray Kids claimed the top prize with their album “KARMA.” For their part, BOYNEXTDOOR earned recognition for the song “If I Say, I Love You.”
