Get out your diaries, here's a date you won't want to miss: on April 28, 2024 at 1pm, the Musée d'Orsay is organizing a waacking battle, with artist Josépha Madoki.

At the Musée d'Orsay, art resonates and sweeps us off our feet in a whirlwind of emotions and sensations. This Sunday, April 28, 2024, the museum's Salle des Fêtes will be hosting a major show, a unique and unprecedented performance not to be missed under any circumstances. Artist Josépha Madoki, choreographer and urban dance specialist, invites us to a waacking battle!

Are these words foreign to you? Let us explain... This dance competition brings together the world's top waacking stars in the Musée d'Orsay, for an epic confrontation to the beat of hip-hop, electro, funk and disco.

Waacking is an art form originating in the United States, similar to voguing. Born in the LGBTQIA+ communities, this dance style is inspired by the Hollywood divas of the Roaring Twenties. The aim is to move the arms to the rhythm of the music, notably by passing them over and around the head. Josépha Madoki is one of France's leading exponents of the genre.

In the majestic Salle des Fêtes at the Musée d'Orsay, the dancer and her international competitors are sure to delight our eyes, and make us want to dance too! A festive, 100% feel-good event, to be experienced this spring at the Paris museum. Reserve your place now.
