Mozart makes a grand entrance at the Collège des Bernardins for a musical journey bringing to life the masterpieces of this legendary composer. Starting from June 28, 2025, this immersive show blends music, theatre, dance, period costumes, and visual mapping to offer an unforgettable experience inside Mozart’s repertoire—ranging from The Magic Flute and The Marriage of Figaro to The Abduction from the Seraglio and the Requiem.
Along the way, in each room, some thirty musicians, actors and dancers will immerse you in eight scenographic tableaux and seventeen works, inviting you to take the helm of an orchestra or take part in a Baroque ball in an 18th-century wig! An innovative experience combining live performances and recordings that will appeal to classical music fans, the curious and families alike, for almost an hour and a half.
Rediscover Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the child prodigy and precocious composer, one of the most influential in history, in a contemporary tribute imagined by Michel Eli, Nathalie Spinozi and Mourad Merzouki. All set in a superb Cistercian monastery, with captivating staging on every floor for the occasion!
Our Review:
If you’re a fan of classical music, this theatrical journey is likely to delight you. Designed as a walk through the life and works of Mozart, it offers a chance to (re)discover his most famous compositions — from The Marriage of Figaro to The Magic Flute — set against the stunning backdrop of the Collège des Bernardins.
Over the course of 1 hour and 15 minutes, audiences move from room to room, with each space holding a new surprise, brought to life by actors in costume and an engaging participatory staging. While the production has an immersive feel, it’s not a strict historical recreative experience. Instead, it fosters a collective playfulness, inviting everyone to take part in the action without attempting to recreate a meticulously accurate 18th-century setting.
It’s an accessible, lively experience perfect for families, offering a fresh perspective on Mozart that blends theatre, music, and interaction — all without striving for total historical illusion.
