Here, Belle becomes Mel, a lonely young girl with a passion for manga, who lives with her father until he mysteriously disappears. When she sets out to find him, she comes face to face with a strange, disarming creature living in a castle frozen in time. This unexpected face-to-face encounter gives rise to a surprising relationship, far removed from the usual stereotypes of fairy tales.
The staging deliberately plays with traditional codes, turning them on their head: Mel is not content to wait for a prince, and the Beast is not just a monster to be tamed. The show takes on a resolutely modern tone, punctuated by nods to pop culture and contemporary references, while retaining the spirit of the original story.
The show is aimed at a wide family audience, from children aged 4 and up to adults curious to discover a lively and original theatrical adaptation.
With an alternating cast featuring Gabriel Givernaud, Cyrine Arrar, Adrien Tuffreau, Arthur Guionnet, Clément Barberteguy, Pascal Buil, Marie Rioux and Yanis Azaiez, the play offers a new dynamic for a universe that promises to be as funny as it is touching.
