Since March 27, the Foire du Trône has set up its rides on the Pelouse de Reuilly. As it does every year, this enormous funfair invites visitors young and old to enjoy 350 attractions spread across more than 10 hectares.
Alongside its many thrill rides, the Foire du Trône is also a chance to satisfy your sweet tooth with classic treats like cotton candy, candy apples, crêpes, marshmallows and, of course, the famous churros.
This year, Europe’s oldest fair—and France’s largest funfair—is also set to dazzle visitors with a drone show. Don’t miss it on Friday, May 8, 2026, a public holiday, when 300 drones will take to the skies above the Foire du Trône from 10:30 p.m. Head to Lac Daumesnil, northeast of the fair, for the best view of the show.
Behind this luminous choreography, blending technology and poetry, is Splendid Drones, a Rouen-based start-up founded in September 2024. So, what exactly can visitors expect on May 8 at the Foire du Trône? There’ll be a surprise in store. But according to ICI Normandie, “Splendid Drones’ signature style is built around a precise blend of music, light and visual storytelling.” On May 8, 2026, visitors to the Foire du Trône will be treated to “nods to the fairground, as well as more poetic scenes,” ICI Normandie reports.
To see the result and watch 300 drones light up the sky above the Foire du Trône, be sure to tune in on May 8 from 10:30 p.m. The fair runs until May 25, 2026. While rides and attractions are paid, entry to the site is completely free.
