Suzanne Valadon returns to the Guichet Montparnasse from 5 to 29 November 2026. Françoise Taillandier and Samuel Beydon carry this musical portrait of the painter, her path, and the people who shared her life.
The production takes us through Montmartre in the Belle Époque. From acrobat to model, Suzanne Valadon becomes an artist and fights to earn a living from her work in a world where women must battle to be recognized. The show follows this journey, highlighting her connections with Toulouse-Lautrec, Erik Satie, and her son Maurice Utrillo.
Written by Françoise Taillandier, the piece ties together a portrait of an artist with a family saga. Valadon’s trajectory and her relationship with Utrillo are two through-lines of this evocation, presented as a theatre-and-music production.
Hélène Darche and Guillaume Tarbouriech are directing. The production is staged by Le MatouKiTouss-Paul Hautreux. Performances are slated for Thursdays at 8:45 p.m. and Sundays at 6:15 p.m., with a running time announced at 1 hour 15 minutes.
