19M is a multi-disciplinary place of art and fashion housing a new and exclusive exhibition. Running from December 16, 2022, to February 12, 2023, this exhibition, curated with POUSH art center shines a light on 11 young contemporary artists who worked on textile, embroidery and weaving. Called A revers, this exhibition is to be visited for free this winter.
The art of embroidery or weaving are thousand-year-old arts, practiced and perfected in all civilizations across the world. Techniques and pieces created tell stories, show the creator’s know-how whilst filling one major function: dressing or dressing up your home.
The eleven guest artists unveil the different techniques used over the course of time, showing their capacity to appropriate and reinvent these old customs to create extraordinary and fascinating pieces.
The A Revers exhibition turns the 19M gallery hall into a huge weaving loom. Visitors can hang around pieces, admiring the contemporary creations. Artists from the POUSH and 19M invite us to rediscover this old art often considered as outdated and to enjoy the talent and precision they require.
