Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche is gearing up for a sunny, colorful back-to-school season! From August 26 to October 15, 2023, the inimitable Rossy de Palma and her boundless energy take over the premises for the Grand Magasin's new free exhibition: Olé Olé.
Adored for her contagious joie de vivre and self-assumed exuberance, the artist invites visitors to explore her offbeat world, from the shop windows of the rue de Sèvres to the store's second floor, where the surprising " Villa Rossy " will take pride of place, an imaginary house illustrating her unique, colorful fantasy world.
For almost 2 months, Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche will be celebrating the crème de la crème ofIberian and South American craftsmanship, and its colorful, hedonistic art de vivre.
From sunny Madrid to Toledo, from Mexico to Valencia and the Balearic Islands, with a few international detours thrown in for good measure, Le Grand Magasin pays tribute to Hispanic craftsmanship and its non-conformist creativity, through a journey of escapism and fantasy.
Inspired by the rich artistic heritage of Iberia, the Olé Olé exhibition transports us from the architectural audacity of Gaudí to the libertarian spirit of the Movida, not forgetting the vibrant heritage of flamenco and the legendary works of Frida Kahlo, Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dalí.
Discover the hand-painted ceramics of The Platera, the subtly variegated fabrics of Siyu, the multicolored tableware of Studio Palu and Isita, and the ancestral weaving and braiding techniques of Guaimaro and Antonine.
But also other treasures of originality, such as gri-gris (Simuero, Alhaja Store, la Manso), maximalist accessories (Olend, Pup Bag), vibrant prints (Johanna Ortiz, Natan), and design objects in a variety of styles (Valeria Vasi, La Californie, Mañana Maison d'Edition).
For the occasion, the amagat tapas bar will be set up on the first floor of the Grand Magasin, serving up delicious Iberian flavours to eat in or take away!
