Artist Thomas Mailaender has been given carte blanche to exhibit his original creations at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie, from June 12 to September 29, 2024.

The Maison Européenne de la Photographie welcomes Thomas Mailaender and his zany, original creations from June 12 to September 29, 2024. The artist presents his work in the exhibition Les belles images, and draws us into his singular and resolutely modern universe.

This exhibition takes the form of a retrospective, bringing together old photographs and installations, as well as creations designed specifically for this show. The artist has been given carte blanche to astonish and seduce us.

Thomas Mailaender is known for his visual experiments and research, which explore the very limits and essence of photography. The artist aims to redefine the role of the image, playing with both clichés found in flea markets and second-hand shops, and images collected on the Internet. A mix of old and new that reflects a deep curiosity and love of photography and iconography.

Like a mad scientist, the French photographer experiments in his laboratory to create original, often offbeat shots. Objects and media are hijacked and reinvented to challenge our perception of norms, habits and customs.

Lovers of photography, plunge into the surprising world of Thomas Mailaender and discover a different vision of images and photography. An exhibition to be seen this summer at the MEP.
