Located in Boulogne-Billancourt, the Musée Départemental Albert-Kahn houses an astonishing collection of photographs that make up the"Archives de la planète": an inventory of living things, a phenomenal project whose aim was to immortalize and show the world as it was at the beginning of the 20th century.
Building on this heritage, last year the museum created its own photography festival, to keep the collector's spirit and dream alive, while giving pride of place to contemporary artists. For its second edition, from May 17 to September 7 2025, the works of 10 contemporary photographers can be admired in the museum garden, as part of the Mondes en commun festival.
The festival's theme, the visual inventory of the world, offers a rereading of Archives de la Planète's collection of photographs and films, with contemporary works representing reality in all its diversity, in connection with the museum's collections, from popular traditions to nature and historical heritage. The exhibition is complemented by festive programming, including meetings with the artists, outdoor screenings, thematic workshops and other visual arts activities.
An artistic and poetic rendezvous that should appeal to many photography enthusiasts!
