The EDF Foundation is launching a new edition of its event Dans(e) la lumière, a blend of exhibition and dance performances. Season 3 runs from 4 November 2026 to 31 January 2027; discover the program.

The EDF Foundation unveils its cultural season, running from November 4, 2026, to January 31, 2027. The institution offers a format somewhat different from traditional exhibitions, with a new edition of "Dans(e) la lumière", an event that brings together visual art and dance in a poetic, surprise-filled journey.

In concrete terms, what can you see in this free exhibition? The EDF Foundation has assembled a number of important works from its own collections. Works inspired by light, by great artists. We discover little-known creations, sometimes never exhibited, by artists such as Man Ray, Raoul Dufy, Julio Le Parc, Gun Gordillo...

Complementing this journey between the works, visitors can admire a variety of dance performances. The dancers invent an original dialogue with the paintings on display, and let themselves be guided by the light to express their world, their art. Depending on the day and time, the dance performances change. You can admire solo dancers, troupes, improvised compositions or extracts from shows, classical or modern dances...

On this unconventional stage, you’ll encounter artists such as Blanca Li, Éric Soyer, Charlotte Louvel, Lisa Dulin, Maud Le Pladec... Worlds, eras, and styles cross paths and mingle at the Fondation EDF, where the artists are united by this light that sparks creativity. This exhibition promises to be as surprising as it is original!

Note: events and the exhibition are free, while performances require tickets. Here is the detailed program for the performances of Dans(e) la lumière, season 3:

Performances

  • 18, 19 and 20 Nov. 2026, 7:30 PM
    Lory Laurac–Compagnie Les Rhizomes
    Tanbou ka pasé
Tanbou ka pasé (translated as “the drum is passed on”) is a choreographic research by Lory Laurac, drawing on Gwoka, Guadeloupe’s intangible cultural heritage. It emerges from the meeting between Max Diakok, a dancer and a key figure in transmitting Gwoka to Paris, and Lory Laurac, a dancer rooted in the hip-hop scene. Two generations, two bodies, and two trajectories collide and fuse to forge a shared language. The drum becomes a symbol of passage, a bridge across generations, practices and imaginations.

  • 18, 19 and 20 Nov. 2026, 7:30 PM
Filipe Francisco Pereira Silva & Marie Lévénez - Compagnie Métro Electro
    Habebo
Habebo arises from Filipe and Marie’s encounter. From that moment, a simple truth emerges: they must create together, guided by the sense that their bodies already spoke a common language. It starts from a reflection on the invisible, the emotions we carry, and how aura guides them. It is a duet that probes how two souls meet to spark a poetic movement, giving the body a lyrical voice. It expresses a desire to resist the homogenization of electro-dance while preserving personal nuances and strong stage identities, and it fosters the emergence of a shared writing. The project also opens a space for dialogue with contemporary dance, as an extension of the electro language where the two worlds coexist and influence one another.

  • 24, 25 and 26 Nov. 2026, 7:30 PM
    Mounir Amhiln - Compagnie Rodin
    Aqua
Rooted in a ground-based sensibility, the piece highlights a deep connection between two performers whose bodies seem to share a common history written through movement. With support, confrontation and mutual listening, Aqua embodies a siblinghood built over time. Driven by dance and live music, the artists develop a language of exchange where the relationship to the other takes center stage.

  • 1st, 2nd and 3rd Dec. 2026, 7:30 PM
    Lilian Damango–Compagnie TRIF
    Le Chant des possibles
What if the most important thing isn’t the choice, but the moment when all possibilities still coexist? That instant that questions the tipping point where past, present, and future meet, and where every decision opens a new path. In both adversity and solidarity, individuals shape and evolve through their choices.

  • 15, 16 and 17 Dec. 2026, 7:30 PM
    Théotim Lestra Di Bernardo–Compagnie Chimères
    SILENCE
A quest to recover the wonder that once lit our gaze before daily certainties, routines and commands dimmed it. Fueled by a Hip-Hop Freestyle-inspired choreographic voice, SILENCE opens a poetic breach where bodies, initially confined to fit into boxes, reclaim their power to invent. SILENCE invites us into a dreamlike world to look differently, to feel, and to rediscover, together, what remains vital inside us.

  • 12, 13 and 14 Jan. 2027, 7:30 PM
    Olivia Pierre–Compagnie OPS
    S K I N S
S K I N S is a hip-hop rooted choreographic work that seeks a denser, more committed, embodied writing. Blending stage writing with freestyle, the piece stitches together intimate fragments of a life story. It explores the layers we construct to exist: our defenses, our masks, what we choose to reveal or conceal. Through intense physicality and delicate moments, performers move between control and surrender, strength and vulnerability. The concept draws on the “skins” from video-game culture, where appearance defines a character’s identity. Do these shells protect us or imprison us?

  • 26, 27 and 28 Jan. 2027, 7:30 PM
Julie Rilos & Leïla Miretti –Compagnie Dosswé
    SSODADE
SSODADE emerges from the meeting of two bodies carrying memories. Born in the Caribbean and the Indian Ocean, Leïla and Julie journey together from doubt to emancipation, from constraint to celebration. Closed, mechanical gestures gradually open to warmth, circularity, and the cypher. At the crossroads of hip-hop, house dance, and Afro-descendant gestural vocabularies, the piece weaves a language of the body in which heritages can no longer be silenced.

SHOWS

  • Nov 4–6, 2026, 8:00 PM, Nov 7, 2026, 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM
    Blanca Li - The Shadow
    At the Juliette Récamier Theater
    Duration: 60 minutes
The Shadow probes the fraught bond between a person and their double. ThisBlanca Li and Edith Canat de Chizy collaboration blends dance, live music, and mixed reality into an immersive experience where real bodies meet virtual silhouettes under the audience’s gaze. Loosely inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s tale The Shadow, the piece follows a scientist who brings his shadow to life, only to see it become autonomous and masquerade as a man in society. The shadow outmaneuvers its master, returns to subjugate him, and ultimately kills him when he resists. From this unsettling fable, Blanca Li interrogates our relationship with doubles, identity, and autonomy in a world where the line between real and artificial grows ever blurrier. Edith Canat de Chizy’s original score, partly performed live, and immersive sound design created with Ircam amplify the sensory experience.

  • Nov 18–20, 2026, 7:30 PM
Maud Le Pladec - Veins of Water
    Duration: 15 minutes
Veins of Water is a trio for three women, envisioning three aquatic figures—part mermaids, part waves, part lost souls—rising from the depths to guide a being torn between floating and sinking. The piece explores abandonment and a descent into the depths as a form of rebirth. Water becomes a metaphor for the inner struggle of the human, where beauty and monstrosity intertwine. Costumes and lighting extend the tension between fluidity and density, grace and strangeness. In Veins of Water, dance and music fuse like two currents, inviting us to drift in a suspended, fragile, hypnotic space.

  • Nov 24–26, 2026, 7:30 PM
Compagnie les Corps Jetés–Noé Chapsal - Viscum
    Duration: 40 minutes
Viscum is a sharp choreographic and aesthetic sketch where physical engagement is total. Beyond form, the piece speaks to intensity—the beautiful yet exhausting attempts to move toward one another, consent, and the right distance between two bodies. A potent, organic duet where each dancer masters their craft and develops a contemporary vocabulary hybridized from breakdance flurries and precise jazz rhythms. In this blistering, acrobatic, feline gestural language, the two black-clad figures collide and accompany each other in a tight space, navigating the awkward, violent, and touching stages of meeting another. The show is recommended for ages 7 and up.

  • Dec 1–3, 2026, 7:30 PM
EPSEDANSE Montpellier – Hofesh Shechter - tHE bAD
    Duration: 25 minutes
A wild ride, tHE bAD assembles a tribe of performers on a percussive score. Glittering with gold costumes, a muscular, urban-influenced gestural language emerges, channeling the tension and freedom of the night. According to its creator, it is a “piece without thinking,” not constantly evaluating if it is good or bad. Here, movement and body interaction become a complete choreographic language, from adrenaline-fueled energy to the exhaustion that follows disciplined mastery. This excerpt from a triptych titled “The Barbarians” is the fourth entry in Hofesh Shechter’s repertoire. The renowned London-based choreographer once again immerses audiences and dancers in apocalyptic atmospheres, these works reflecting both the darkness of contemporary society and the conviction that humanity can invent something better.

  • Dec 15–17, 2026, 7:30 PM
    Helena Olmedo - Fareras
    Duration: 45 minutes
At the heart of Fareras stands a lighthouse, a symbol of hope and memory. Its light becomes a fragile promise, a shared language that crosses borders. Four lighthouse keepers tell its story with their bodies, guiding the lights and preserving, saving, and keeping the beacon alive. Like a myth of their own making, they conjure a world rich in images and motion. The lighthouse remains the anchor, the witness to our history.

  • Jan 12–14, 2027, 7:30 PM
Mickaël Le Mer – Compagnie S'Poart - Chiaroscuro
    Duration: 30 minutes
In darkness, light is born. In light, shadow emerges. Chiaroscuro is a Renaissance painting technique (the “clair-obscur”) that plays on strong contrasts between shadow and bright light to sculpt volume, heighten drama, and reveal the body’s depth. Masters like Caravaggio and Rembrandt have used this approach famously. Inspired by this technique, Chiaroscuro explores the intimate dialogue between shadow and light through a duo of dancers. Bodies become material—sometimes spectral, sometimes precise, always revealed by light and darkness. Between brutal confrontation and sensuous fusion, attraction and resistance, the performers craft a choreography where every gesture, touch, and separation embodies the balance of opposing forces. Light shapes, weakens, and magnifies; shadow becomes an active, mysterious, and protective presence. This visually and sensorially charged experience questions our human duality—the constant push and pull between vulnerability and power, what we show and what we hide—and celebrates the dramatic, fragile, sovereign beauty of the moving body.

  • Jan 26–28, 2027, 7:30 PM
Area Jeune Ballet Genève–Sadeck Berrabah - Murmuration Blue Edition
    Duration: 30 minutes
Dance Area Geneva and La Cité Bleue partner for a piece that sits within Sadeck Berrabah’s distinctive choreographic universe, a leading figure on the contemporary scene. Murmuration marks a signature: precise, geometrically traced lines and figures that fuse into a hypnotic collective movement inspired by flocks of birds in flight. Ten young dancers from Dance Area adopt this demanding, visually striking language where every gesture counts and the individual contributes to an overarching architecture. The choreography becomes a living organism, constantly transforming as the group breathes, vibrates, and moves in unison. In this version, dance engages in a tight dialogue with the music, not merely as accompaniment but as a structural force.

    Changing the Gaze on Dance

Sponsored by Hugo Marchand, the étoile of the Opéra National de Paris, and supported by the Ministry of Culture, it brings together 12 young dancers from across France. Each presents an original solo, revealing their personality through varied aesthetics: classical, contemporary, and jazz.
The event continues with a collective creation performed by about fifteen dancers, born from an artistic residency. Built around gaze, light, and shadow, this piece questions how others’ opinions influence our movements and our identity.
