It's a Parisian gallery well known to lovers ofcontemporary art. This spring, Galleria Continua invites two new artists to take possession of its galleries, with the aim of surprising, delighting and touching visitors. From March 28 to May 28, 2025, discover the artistic worlds of Cuban artist Osvaldo González and Ukrainian artist Zhanna Kadyrova.
We start with visual artist Osvaldo González. For two months, he will be presenting his new solo exhibition entitled " Descendencia "( Descent ). An opportunity to discover the artist's original artistic practice. Doing nothing like everyone else, he uses adhesive tape and light to create works that are both surprising and poetic, evoking memory and heritage.
For Osvaldo González, who has been painting for many years, Plexiglas becomes the evolution of canvas, and ribbon the evolution of painting. The artist, who loves to create chiaroscuro effects, is unveiling his most famous series, " Ámbar " (Amber), at Galleria Continua. But he is also exhibiting a site-specific installation, " Flujo " (Flux). This expansive tape structure runs through the gallery, linking works and spaces.
This spring, Galleria Continua also presents " Strategic Locations " , a solo exhibition by Zhanna Kadyrova. Internationally renowned for her ability to explore the boundaries between form and matter, Ukrainian artist Zhanna Kadyrova uses found objects and materials to create works that powerfully reflect life in a war zone.
At the entrance to the gallery, visitors will discover " HOME " (2014), a monumental brick sculpture depicting a map of the Ukraine, fractured by the invasion. The artist also presents " Resource", a new series in which nature is transformed into a battlefield. For this installation, the artist imagined a pile of wood, with the bark of each log replaced by camouflage fabric taken from Ukrainian military uniforms.
Two artists with very different worlds, but to be discovered free of charge, together and right now at Galleria Continua. An exhibition sure to please contemporary art lovers!
