Matisse - Soulages, new virtual reality experiences at Hangar Y

After Monet, Van Gogh and Gaudi, Hangar Y takes us on a voyage of discovery of two other artists. And not just any artists: two French painters who have left their mark on modern and contemporary art, two masters who continue to inspire younger generations and fascinate art lovers.

Thanks to the magic of virtual reality, plunge into the world of Matisseand Soulages, with immersive experiences at Hangar Y. From October 18, 2025 to March 8, 2026, the cultural center offers two unique artistic journeys, through VR headsets.

The Danse, danse, danse - Matisse experience lets us learn more about the painter's masterpiece, which is divided into several paintings. We see bent, tense, gathered bodies, men and women dancing. This show about bodies, movement and the interpretation of emotions is brought to life by virtual reality. Theimmersive experience plungesus into the heart of the round, to better understand its secrets.

For the second journey, Pierre Soulages guides us through his Outrenoir. He introduces us to the "black-light" for which he is famous. Colors, shadows and light play around us in this VR experience, where artistic expression can be read in the paint, the depth of a brushstroke.

These two painters are important figures in abstract art: a genre often less loved and understood than Impressionism or Naturalism. With these immersive artistic experiences, Hangar Y wants to play with our senses and emotions to bring these works of art to life, and bring us closer to these two essential painters.
